DRS to run charter train

DRS will be running a special charter train in conjunction with the Open Day on the 7th July 2007. The train will be hauled by DRS’ locomotives and a set of MK3 first class coaches taking passengers on an excursion from Carlisle to Newcastle and return and will traverse the rare freight only lines around Currock and all points of the Upperby triangle. It is also booked to run over the King Edward Bridge through Newcastle Central station, over the High Level Bridge and down to Low Fell Junction. Return to Carlisle will be via Norwood Junction and the Tyne Valley. The train will run non-stop..
The train will depart from Carlisle Station at 13:30 arriving in Newcastle at 15:47 (non-stop service) for its return journey back to Carlisle arriving at 18:25.
There will be light snacks and refreshments on board along with a gift bag from DRS.
