Direct Rail Services Limited and Eddie Stobart Limited have beaten off stiff competition from some of the country’s major rail companies to jointly win the ‘Freight Achievement of the Year’ Award in the prestigious National Rail Award 2007. DRS has a contract to transport goods on behalf of Tesco between Grangemouth and Daventry running five days a week by rail utilising DRS’ new low emission environmentally friendly Class 66 locomotive carrying Eddie Stobart’s livery.



DRS is an established rail freight company who has achieved an unrivalled levels of performance in terms of reliable and timely service deliveries. Today the company has gained recognition of excellence in the rail freight industry. The award is for the recognition as a major contributor to the UK rail freight during this year and the Tesco traffic which has been voted to have the most significant environmental impact supporting government legislation of lowering harmful emissions and promoting the switch from road to rail. DRS’ partnership with Eddie Stobart and Tesco is demonstrating a successful trend to integrated transport solution.
