NVQ Achievement

Direct Rail Services is delighted to announce that 3 more staff have been successful in achieving their NVQ qualification.
Another batch of employees from Direct Rail Services (DRS) have been successful in achieveing their NVQ level 3 qualification in railway specific subjects.
Kevin Smith and Alan Rogerson, both based at the company’s Sellafield depot, and John Wilson – DRS’ Engineering Training/Assessor – have been awarded the certificates in ‘Traction and Rolling Stock’.
This latest announcement is another demonstration of DRS’ commitment to employee development and training. John described the benefits of the qualification both for the organisation and the individuals: “Kevin and Alan, and myself have many years of experience and have built up extensive experience over several years. The NVQ confirms this experience within a railway specific environment”.
The adult apprenticeship programme is backed by the Strategic Rail Authority which plans to increase skill levels across the entire rail industry.
This achievement comes ahead of the launch of DRS’ own ‘Trackside’ training facility based at the company’s Kingmoor depot, scheduled for opening later this year.
