class 68

The Class 68 is a mixed traffic diesel electric locomotive manufactured by Stadler Rail for Direct Rail Services.

It has a maximum speed of 100mph and produces 3,800hp from its 16-cylinder diesel engine. Their modern diesel engine gives amongst the lowest emissions of any diesel locomotive in operation. They also offer a stop start system to reduce emissions and increased efficiency.
