Tesco Extends its DRS Services

Daventry to Mossend EuroCentral Service operating 6 days per week.

The service transports 34 Tesco’s containers at a time, 6 days per week.  This saves money, reduces CO2 emissions by approximately two thirds and takes almost 7 million lorry miles off the UK’s already congested roads.

Tesco’s John Clarke and Stobart’s Liam Martin were both extremely complementary of DRS’ ability to re-schedule all services at short notice due to demand peaks at the Daventry Warehouse.  The flexibility and Customer Service was highly praised.

“Just wanted to put on the record a huge well done and thanks for all of your efforts in the past week in what has been a huge challenge (due to the need to reschedule services at short notice to overcome warehousing issues).  This week has proved the strides that have been made by all in the rail industry and that when the chips are down rail solutions can be found.”
Liam Martin, Managing Director, Rail Freight, Stobart

This service originally started back in 2006, only to be lost for a short period in 2010.  A year later Tesco returned to DRS and this is the 4th service to come on line under the new contract.

Other services for Tesco include: (Can these be placed in a small table)
